Decision Making…. Rich DeVos
You have got to arrive at a point of such excitement for this that any obstacle disappears.
You need to decide to do something that you chose to do and be willing to back it up by saying that this is the price I will pay to get it.
A commitment or a decision to do something implies a price to be paid to get there.
Whether you want to admit it or not, you’ll have to come to a point where you say, “This I am going to do!”
Find a business that you can participate in one step at a time – its just that simple. A small decision, a series of events that if the right decisions are made to make you progress, lead you to an ultimate successful goal each day you do things like this.
A series of successful experiences builds confidence. To grow this business find people and if you find one person then you’ll have the confidence to find another one and you make another decision to make another.
Your decision is geared to where you ‘re capable to do it if you’ll just make a positive one to do something to move you in the right direction.
You make a decision to go to a meeting (find out if you can be a part of it. Then find out if it’s a good legitimate business and then you either take the next step or you go back home and commit yourself to the rut you’ve been living in.
Have you ever thought of what this business could do if it really started to reach out and try to lift people up? Isn’t that what you are doing when you offer them an opportunity? We haven’t begun to do it enough yet.
You go out thinking and wanting with all your heart to believe that this thing is for you and then you go through a period of doubt, you’re going to get some disappointments and all of a sudden you’re not so sure but you’ll have to live through that because your decision will have to be firm. But at some point you will need to develop a burning passion or total conviction to the thing you’ve made a decision for. When that happens there is no stopping.
A commitment to some thing and until you make that commitment you’re just playing games. If you want to travel the whole route then your decision making has to carry you through a series of successful experiences where obstacles do not get in the way.
If you stop growing the business, then your commitment was only partial. The price you were willing to pay was a limited price.
You get out of it exactly what you put into it.
Tomorrow you’re either going to do something to move ahead or you’re going to do nothing and go behind.
Tomorrow you will either go out or make a call or you will postpone it till Thursday and you’ll kid yourself that Thursday you will do it. And Thursday you’ll say you’re too busy and you’ll do it on Friday. On Friday you’ll decide that the dust has got to be taken care of in the house and you’ll have to put if off until Monday. Your chances of ever accomplishing your goals in this business have already dropped 90%.
Great things were accomplished by a lot of people doing little things one step at a time.
A simple road a series of steps that lead you from wherever you are. This opportunity is for you. It’s geared to your ability to make one decision. Each one leads you progressively towards the ultimate goal.

I just read a humorous Christmas story that involves an aging aunt who was going to send each young child in the family a card stuffed with $10. In a hurry, she forgot to include the money. Each child received an empty card inscribed with the handwritten note. “Go buy yourself a present.” Without the accompanying $10, the note took on a completely different meaning than the aunt had intended!
Here is another wonderful and much more thoughtful Christmas story:
“Miss Thompson was a school teacher…and this is the way Charles Swindall tells the story about one of her students:
Teddy Stollard certainly qualified as one of the least; disinterested in school, musty, wrinkled clothes. Hair never combed. One of those kids in school with a deadpan face, expressionless…sort of a glossy, unfocused stare. When Miss Thompson spoke to Teddy, he always answered in monosyllables. He was unattractive, unmotivated, and distant. He was just plain hard to like.
Even though his teacher said that she loved all the class just the same… down inside she wasn’t being completely truthful. Whenever she marked Teddy’s papers, she got a sort of perverse pleasure putting X’s next to the wrong answers; and when she put ”F’s” at the top of the page, she always did it with a flair. She should have known better! She had Teddy’s records. And she knew more about him than she wanted to admit. The records read: 1st grade: Teddy shows promise with his work and attitude, but poor home situation. 2nd Grade: Teddy could do better. Mother is seriously ill – he receives little help at home. 3rd Grade: Teddy is a good boy, but too serious. He is a slow learner. His mother died this year. 4th Grade: Teddy is very slow, but well behaved. His father shows no interest.
Well, Christmas came and the boys and girls in Miss Thompson’s class brought her Christmas presents. They piled the presents on her desk and crowded around for her to open them…and among the presents was a gift from Teddy Stollard. She was surprised he had brought her a gift – but he had. Teddy’s gift was wrapped in brown paper and held together with scotch tape. On the paper were written the simple words: “For Miss Thompson – From Teddy”.
When she opened Teddy’s present out fell a gaudy rhinestone bracelet with half the stones missing, and a bottle of cheap perfume. The other boys and girls began to giggle and smirk at Teddy’s gifts, but Miss Thompson had at least enough sense to silence them, by immediately putting on the bracelet and putting some of the perfume on her wrists. Holding her wrists up for the other children to smell, she said: “Doesn’t it smell lovely!!!” And the children, taking their cue from Miss Thompson, responded with ooohs and aaahs.
At the end of the day, when school was over and the other children had left, Teddy lingered behind. He slowly came over to her desk and said softly: Miss Thompson…Miss Thompson…Gee, Yah smell just like my mother… Her bracelet looks real pretty on yah too! I’m glad you like my presents! When Teddy left, Miss Thompson got down on her knees…and asked God to forgive her.
The next day, when the children came to school, they were welcomed by a new teacher. Miss Thompson had become a different person. She was no longer just a teacher. She was an agent of God. She was now a person committed to loving her children, and doing things for them that would live long after she was gone. She helped all the children, but especially the slow ones – and especially Teddy Stollard. By the end of the school year Teddy showed dramatic improvement. He caught up with most of the students, and was even ahead of some.
Well the year ended and she didn’t hear from Teddy for a long time. Then one day she received a note which read: Dear Miss Thompson, I wanted you to be the first to know. I will be graduating, second in my class. Love, Teddy Stollard. And four years later, another note: Dear Miss Thompson, They told me I will be graduating 1st in my class! I wanted you to be the first to know! The university has not been easy – but I like it. Love, Teddy Stollard. And four years later, another note: Dear miss Thompson, As of today, I am Theodore Stollard, MD. How about that! I wanted you to be the first to know. I’m getting married next month, the 27th to be exact. I want you to come and sit where my mother would sit if she were alive. You are the only family I have now. Dad died last year. Love, Teddy Stollard
Well, Miss Thompson went to that wedding and sat where Teddy’s mother would have sat. She deserved to sit there. She had done something for Teddy that he could never forget.”
In a way all of us are just like Miss Thompson, and the most wonderful feeling is to know that you have made a difference in the life of another person. Ultimately, a well-lived life might be measured by the greatest good that one has done for the largest number of people.

You must admit, there’s a lot to admire about the incredible earthworm, a perfect role model for all of us building a networking business.

I have been thinking of a dear friend, Dr. Moscos. He unexpectedly passed away a few years ago. He was truly amazing. His home has a fairly normal looking garage other than a little bigger and it houses a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Jensen Healy, and a Jaguar, etc. He even had his own Russian Jet Fighter!
We did several meetings over the years in that home. He was a truly fascinating gentleman. I would like to share an interview that I had with him:
Dave: Dr. Moscos, you are a chiropractor and, not only that, you’ve been a chiropractor to some pretty famous people. Could you tell us a little about your background?
Dr. Moscos: Yes. I got two degrees – a chiropractic degree at DC and then I got my naturopathic degree. Back in 1989 I was asked to join the royal family in Saudi Arabia to be their personal naturopathic physician. I went with my family there for 6 years and survived the first Gulf war. I came back and wasn’t ready to retire so I set up a small office here in Newport Beach in California. Within a year one of my old patients found me and brought me a set of Magsteps. I didn’t know what they were but she had a little viewer and showed me the magnets. She asked me what I thought and I asked, “Where did you get these bipolar magnets?!” She said, “This is Nikken.” So I joined right away…. It‘s just fantastic getting the word out there.
Dave: What is your opinion of the company, the products, and the future?
Dr. Moscos: Way back in the 60s when I first started getting into the naturopathic medicine, we began using magnets. They were single pole magnets (the old + and – side ones) and we used to have quite a difficult time with these in our clinics. Something was missing. We did lots of experiments as students. Of course when Nikken came along, their magnets used the correct polarity for the human body. Nikken’s magnets have the correct magnetic fields which match the earth magnetic fields, and these match the fields in the human body, so it’s very precise.
Nikken’s mission statement is about the wellness of the whole human being. In the environment today we are bombarded with toxins everywhere. Even the air is acidic. The water we drink, bottled water or tap water, it’s all acidic. The body doesn’t like acid because this is where disease proliferates. If we keep our bodies on the alkaline side we can ward off disease. Nikken’s nutritionals are a Godsend to the human race because the products are exactly what we need. They supplement the magnetic fields that are being destroyed by the environment and the population.
It’s been recorded in a Washington D.C. study that the earth’s magnetic field is down about 15%. We know that the actions of the physical of the body are the result of chemical reactions in the brain. These reactions can only occur when we are in a magnetic field. If the chemical signals are reduced by a lowered field, our electrons start losing their power. Nikken gives our electrons back their full power so that the body can properly heal itself.
Dave: When I first joined Nikken, I was given a paper from Dr. Nakagawa titled “Magnetic Deficiency Syndrome” and it detailed how important it was to sleep on a mattress that produces the optimal magnetic environment. If we can’t find the right environment, we must try and make or create one. That is what Nikken does, creates an environment with the right magnetic field, with clean water, pure air, good nutrition and of course, a happy family and society. We’re working on all the aspects of an optimal environment.
Dr. Moscos: That’s what Nikken is is all about. It’s got the attitude and mission statement right in the 5 Pillars of Health. We put everything together and the human being is much happier, especially in this environment. I don’t know what the air is like up there in Washington State, but down here in Orange County, we don’t breathe the air, we cut it up with scissors and chew it!
Dave: I was reading something about that. There was a study done where they could look at a child’s lungs and tell just from that that they were from LA.
Dr. Moscos: Yes, this is what we see. I’ve been in practice for 32 years and it’s terrible to see the problems that patients have come in with over the years. I’ve actually taken the liberty of telling people to leave California because they were having so many problems! But the key now is Nikken and all their products. I love the clean air system. People live in homes that are never aired out and the air inside is often worse than outside, because you’ve got the carpets, glue, paint, pets, etc. The air wellness machine is the key to a clean home. The sleep system is also amazing. Sleep is so essential, a #1 priority. The body repairs itself when we sleep, because it has to work so hard when we’re awake. This is the point in medical science that we’ve gotten away from. We’ve lost all the natural elements. Nobody heals the body. We work with it so it can heal itself. We put it in the proper environment and it will heal. The brain is designed that way. When you cut your skin, it heals. The body already knows what to do because it’s designed that way. One of the good environments we can give it is through Nikken’s sleep system.
Dave: When I first got into Nikken I met a medical doctor that said when he first saw it he was skeptical. He had a brother whose wife was in a bad car wreck and she had an incredible experience with the product. After that, he got on Med Line, a medical database, to look up more information on magnets. He said the amazing thing was that he thought he would see a couple of kooky things about magnets, but instead he saw literally thousands of articles, abstracts, and studies about using magnets for all types of health conditions. He observed that everybody in the world seemed to know this and were using them, except the US.
Today people are more open to magnets. It still feels like the beginning of a floodgate, now that there are beginning to be enough people to explode the industry. As an example, when I first joined Nikken one of my friends was quite skeptical. She even wrote a letter to the National Council on Health Fraud and got a personal letter back from a Dr. Jarvis, who said he commended her on being a skeptic, and went on to use words like charlatan, huckster, and quack. Not long ago I was reading an article on magnetics and it quoted this same Dr. Jarvis saying, “I am having to reconsider my original opinion on magnetic therapy.” Time is on our side. The future will be amazing for the people who are ready. The rest of the country is waiting and we just need to go out and tell them about what we have. We’re going to help people. It’s obvious when we look around because the market is full of people who want a premium sleep system. Everyone is realizing that what you sleep on will affect your quality of sleep and your sleep is a keystone to good health. Our product is priced right and I hear of so many miracles from people using our sleep system. That wouldn’t have happened if they were on other brands which do not surround the body in a wonderful cocoon of magnetism, negative ions, and far-infrared.
Dr. Moscos: The sleep system is the key. It optimizes body healing when we sleep. We have to be in a relaxed state, which means our temperature must be controlled through far-infrared. The body when it sleeps fails in one thing only: controlling temperature. It works so hard that you perspire. Then you kick the blankets off and get cold. If you’re in a supportive environment with the spine supported and the right temperature and nice dense foam, the body can heal almost 100%. There are so many testimonials out there. I’ve seen so much in the office over the last 5 years that it’s just amazing. Some of it even to me is hard to comprehend. I’m dealing with some severe cases. Right now I’ve got 3 people with hepatitis C and we’re using Nikken products to fight the virus, including using the back flex over the liver area and the nutritional products. They are working! This is tremendous.
Dave: That’s exciting! I met gentlemen who got the sleep system and said that before he got it, his bedding looked like it had gone through a threshing machine, but now he hardly has to even make his bed.
Dr. Moscos: I have a patient who has one of the new systems. She came to me one day and said she was scared of the system. I asked why. “I woke up and my head was exactly where I put it the night before. Not a curl out of place.” She figured she didn’t move all night!
Dave: With the sleep system you sleep deeper and one of the things I continually think is neat is that the sleep system is actually a productively tool. You get such good sleep that you don’t need as much; you wake up earlier and have more energy.
Dr. Moscos: According to the National Center of Sleep in the US, state that almost 70 million people have problems with sleep. We know that bad sleep is a major factor in Depression, and it lowers the strength of the body’s immune system, which is one of the keys for healing the body. This is where people go wrong.
Dave: I was reading an article about how they did a sleep study with some college students, and when they got into the deeper sleep they would awaken them and prevent them from going into the deep sleep. Within about a week they started exhibiting symptoms of fibromyalgia and other disorders.
Dr. Moscos: Improper sleep is a repression of the immune system. Auto-immune problems mean we’re going to have different arthritis and soft tissue structure breakdowns. Eventually the body just deteriorates. We have to be in a very relaxed deep restful sleep, almost sedated, for these to heal. Nikken’s sleep system puts the body in that state. The body heals when it goes through all 5 stages of sleep. The first four stages help the body heal the physical structures like muscles and organs and tissues. The REM sleep state is when it reverts back and the brain heals itself. These cycles go every 30-70 minutes, over and over through the night. The Russians did some studies with this and found out that with magnets, these are increased up to 110 minutes, which is good because the body can heal better if it stays in the cycles longer and deeper.
Dave: Fascinating. Talking about levels of sleep, many of us have noticed that our dreams are much more lucid. I’ve noticed more colors, even tastes; if I took notes, I could write a novel!
Dr. Moscos: If you can dream in color you’re getting the right sleep. I know I do. I wouldn’t part with my system ever. In fact my wife and I are fighting over the Air Wellness system. She puts it on her side when she goes to bed and when I come in I move it to my side!
Dave: Sounds like you need to get a second one! I was going to ask you if you might share just one experience of the success of the sleep system that is really inspiring and touched your heart.
Dr. Moscos: Well I can tell you what it’s done for me. Years ago I had a tremendous sinus problem. I had that for almost 25 years and I got it settled down but when I went back to Saudi the sand was so bad that it acted up again and I had a horrendous infection for almost 5 years. When I got on the sleep system back in 1997 I noticed a big difference right away. But even now with the new sleep system I noticed the biggest difference. I know the Air Wellness system also helps. I go to bed at night and wake up refreshed and ready to go, with no sinus problems and no medications to take. It’s that clean air and good environment!
Dave: The Lactoferrin, have you done any experimenting with that or shared it with anyone?
Dr. Moscos: Yes, I’m using Lactoferrin a lot especially in the office with infections. It works wonders. What I like about the Lactoferrin is that it’s a bacteriostatic, which means it binds with iron and deprives the germ from getting iron, which means it can’t thrive. It works wonders and it’s a beautiful compound. I like how it’s made in New Zealand with pure cows milk. A nice, pure environment, and Nikken uses almost 3 quarts of milk to make one tablet! It’s a fantastic nutritional. It does so many things for the body, I could go on and on. Besides the bacteriostatic, it’s also a pre-biotic which aids the biotics in our body already. I use it a lot in the practice. It’s a tremendous boost to the immunize system. There were a lot of articles about Lactoferrin and tissue damage especially in aging and rejuvenation, tests done outside of Nikken.
Dave: That’s exciting. A question for you. Lactoferrin means Iron, so Activated Lactoferrin means it doesn’t have the iron already and it’s hungry for it, right?
Dr. Moscos: Yes.
Dave: So that means that stuff in the store has iron already and is relatively inactive. I ask this because some people have problems as far as too much iron in their body, and although this is a small capsule, some are still concerned about whether it is an iron supplement. I guess it’s quite the opposite. It’s an iron-scavenging molecule.
Dr. Moscos: This is ideal for those who have too much iron in their body. At the same time, Lactoferrin is an antioxidant, one of the best natural versions. People succumb to illnesses because we have a sodium-bicarbonate system to neutralize acids in our environment. Even our foods are contaminated and our diets are heavily focused on meats, potatoes and breads, all acid foods. Our system depletes itself by working so hard at neutralizing acids and then we start to leach minerals out of our system to balance things out. That’s how people get so sick. The Lactoferrin acts as a saving mechanism to this particular system. One of my cases, a man who has high iron, is doing wonderfully because of the Lactoferrin. We keep doing lab tests and the iron is coming down.
Dave: How many are you prescribing for that?
Dr. Moscos: Just two a day. Usually one a day is plenty for high iron, but this one is particularly bad. Even the hospital wouldn’t take him. Nikken has gone out of its way to do specific research and bring out great products of health. No matter what they make, it works. Like I always say, Nikken is a closest thing to putting us back in the environment we need to be in,
Dave: I believe the financial environment that Nikken has put me in has made me healthier too!
Dr. Moscos: Of course! Where else can you be your own business, your own boss, on your own time, vacation when you want to, and make a lot of people happy. That’s what Nikken’s all about.
Dave: I really appreciate all your time and insight.
Dr. Moscos: Oh, I just love Nikken. I can’t get enough of it. I love going out and getting people into it, telling the world about health and all about Nikken. It’s a wonderful company.
Dave: We’ve got so much left to do so go do it!
Dr. Moscos: People have to realize what they have with this company. It’s endless.

Not one of the men died during their sojourn in a freezing hell. This incredible fact bears witness to Shackleton’s leadership and to the strength of the human spirit

Shackleton (“the Boss”) to his men, was an inspiring optimist, “a leader who put his men first.”. “He would be remembered not so much for his own accomplishments as for what he was capable of drawing out of others.” ”Behind every calculated word and gesture lay the single-minded determination to do what was best for his men.
This is the true quality of a leader: he leads his people, but more than anything, he leads FOR his people!

I am reading “Driven” – an inspiring autobiography about the amazing entrepreneur Larry Miller, who began in the parts & service dept of a Toyota dealership and eventually amassed a business empire producing $3.2 billion in annual sales!
Larry Miller states: “It’s funny how life is like a river sometimes, and, if you do things a certain way, that river will just take you a certain direction and you ride it out…”
The book begins: “I can remember precisely the moment my life changed forever. I had an epiphany one morning, and nearly every detail of that moment is burned into the hard drive of my brain…I was at work, managing the parts department of a Toyota dealership …When, like a bucket of cold water it hit me. Here I was, soon to be 27 years old, married, with two children and one on the way, and I was responsible for raising and supporting those children, providing food and shelter and college and housing and much more, while preparing for old age and retirement, and I realized I had nothing to fall back on. I had no college education, no special training, All I had was my energy…It scared me. The feeling was so overwhelming that I stopped what I was doing to ponder the matter. I decided I had to be extremely good at something.
Reasoning that other dealers had the same parts and roughly the same prices to offer, I believed service and hustle were the things that would set me apart. I would simply outwork them. I would become so good that I could not be denied. I was obsessed with doing everything I could do and accomplishing as much as I could. I had an extreme sense of urgency.”
The story continues, and he “became a student of everything” – learning all the fundamentals of a parts business; ordering systems, delivery systems, hiring practices, training practices. He decided to “Be incredible in all these facets so that he could control the outcome. He needed to become the best.”
He states: “I overpower problems with work”
Well, how did he do?
To quote the book: “Well, I wasn’t just good at delivering service and parts, I was world-class. I wanted parts delivered five minutes ago. I was a quarterback, running the two-minute offense. I produced results. When I started, the store was averaging $6,500 a month in parts sales, or $78,000 a year. In my first month on the job, sales jumped to $13,000 and increased every single month for 28 months. The parts department grew so big that the dealership didn’t have room to store all the parts, so we bought houses around the dealership and stored them there. In my second full year on the job, we became the first Toyota dealer in the U.S. to sell a million dollars’ worth of parts in one year! – We not only became the first Toyota parts department to reach $1 million in annual sales, but we reached $2 million before anyone else reached $1 million, and we became the first to reach $ million as well. ”
What an amazing story! Just imagine running into this guy back when he was age 27 and instead of him doing Toyota, you sponsored him into Nikken! I would share with him that our company also came from Japan; that Nikken accumulated over 9 billion in sales before they even entered the North American market. That this business is a “Millionaire Maker” – and Millionaires have been created in every country that Nikken has entered. And that we are looking for the right person to open up your area!
Larry Miller ardently mastered the fundamentals of automotive parts ordering systems. YOU can master the fundamentals of Nikken. Decide to become really good at something! Besides, Average just doesn’t pay very well! What are your possibilities if you had his kind of personal initiative!
Nikken is so much more important for America than any Toyota Parts and Service business! We have a important destiny to fulfill. We have wonderrful solutions for everyone’s greatest needs, Health – in every pillar! And this is an opportunity to help others while helping yourself and your family. And Nikken is just a fun, fun thing to do! Think about your own reasons for building a business, and get some real Passion – be on Fire for something – Nikken!!! The most valuable thing I can do with my time is to be face to face with a “class A” prospect who I’ve been sent to see by someone I have respect for and time to tell my story under favorable conditions, and they have money to buy. The second most important thing I can do with my time is getting on the phone and getting more appointments to do that. And the third most important thing I can do with my time would be to get some more names to do that!
I am an ‘inverted paranoid’. I just believe that everybody in the world is out to get me and help me do whatever I want to do. Everybody wants to be my partner. Everybody wants to be my customer. When I walk up to a door, I visualize a red carpet rolled out and they are waiting to do business with me, because they not only wants to buy from me, they wants to be my friend. If you don’t get a chance to associate with me, you are going to miss something, baby! Now that’s an Attitude!!!

In his Daytimers, he would write “Thought starters” – a couple of spare details from an event that would trigger memories of the entire event.
“Waste is unjustified, and especially the waste of time…One must live, not only exist; he must do, not merely be; he must grow, not just vegetate” (The Miracle of Forgiveness – Book craft, 1969, 91).
Often he used the word fun when he discussed his work
His sense of wanting to achieve, contribute, and build
He directly or indirectly enriched all of our lives.
Everywhere you look, there’s his imprint.
His motto: Go about doing good until there’s too much good in the world. It’s excellence for the sake of excellence. It just feels good being excellent, doing your best, learning everything you can about anything to which you apply yourself and then doing that thing well.
The book quotes the John Adams biography: Through all his life Adams would be happiest when there was clear purpose to his days.
Think serious about Being The Very Best?
What if YOU just had to become extremely good at something?
Any day we wish, we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish; we can start a new activity. Any day we wish; we can start the process of life change.
We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year. We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are.
We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause. As Shakespeare uniquely observed, “The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves.” We created our circumstances by our past choices.
We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today. Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. We cannot allow our errors in judgment, repeated every day, to lead us down the wrong path.
We must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works out. And then we must make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into our daily lives.
And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life… If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree. You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life… and it all begins with your very own power of choice.

An affirmation is the act of expressing my belief in the truth of a particular statement.
Paul J. Meyer states that: “An affirmation is the act of expressing your belief in the truth of a particular statement.”
In the beginning, when it was easy to be discouraged, I would say to myself, “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” I repeated the words of Og Mandino many times: “I will persist until I succeed. I was not delivered unto this world in defeat, nor does failure course in my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by the shepherd. I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to walk, to sleep with the sheep. I will hear not those who weep and complain, for their disease is contagious. Let them join the sheep. The slaughterhouse of failure is not my destiny. I will persist until I succeed!”
Brian Tracy states that Affirmations are most effective when stated positively, using present tense, and are personal (using “I”). These positive, assertive statements say yes to our potential. By repeating them over and over strongly with feeling, confidence and enthusiasm you will drives them deep into your subconscious. Whatever the conscious mind believes and accepts, the subconscious will act and obey instructions to bring it into physical reality.
Our lives are directed by the content and quality of our thoughts. Whatever we think in our mind we move toward it. Be careful what you think about, because our thoughts also have a power on those around us!
The Mission of Nikken is: “To inspire individuals to discover a whole new way of life and provide them the opportunity to live it by changing their lives through improved health and financial well being.”
This Nikken Mission… is MY mission!
I attracted Nikken into my life and it is my destiny. Nikken is… perfect for me! I will succeed because there are millions who need our products. The market is immeasurable! – And with Nikken – I will change the world! I am a “difference maker” – I make things happen, I am building an EMPIRE! I already see our products transforming lives, and through my caring and sharing I shall witness countless others gain a more abundant life.
There is no need to convince or persuade anyone to become involved with the products or to become a business builder. I simply share my intent and attract people who want me to mentor and help them.

I love the thrill of accomplishment. The taste of success is delicious. I attract people who are “ready” for the opportunity to increase their income or want the benefits of my products. As I move through my day I see myself smiling sincerely at people and connecting with them with my eyes. I uplift everyone that I come in contact with. My name is Dave Johnson. I have been in business for myself since 1978. I have worked at lots of things and looked at just about everything. Obviously, business opportunities are NOT created equal! In evaluating a business, I would certainly look at basic things such as timing, marketing, profit potential, etc. I also want my work to be meaningful and not require me to choose between business and my family.
What is the most worthwhile good to be done? What actually would make our lives the most profitable and happy?
My favorite concept for measuring success is that the person who does the most good for the greatest number of people is the most successful. Perhaps a business’s capacity to aid ones ability to positively impact the world might be the best measure for choosing the ultimate career.

Recently I got a call from someone I haven’t seen in almost 20 years – my original sponsor! He was coming to town and asked if we could meet for lunch. And we talked a lot about the old times. He said something deeply philosophical and extremely poignant. That one of the important keys for success in network marketing is to find a good company, and don’t leave! Just stay there! One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when you are overtaken by temporary defeat.
Do you have “Stickability” or “Quitability”?

Here is an interesting thought….
After being in the business for 22 years, when I looked at mynikken.com on the morning of August 1st, 2012 – I saw the same numbers that you probably saw on your homepage. Not much!
On the GROW MY BUSINESS section I saw “group volume, 0," “New Consultants, 0," “Personal Volume, 0," “New Sponsors This Month, 0," and ”You have zero in your downline that have moved up in rank."
I’m confident that in the next few days, I’m going to see these numbers majestically accelerate because of a wonderful team that’s been created. It feels mighty good to watch the numbers climb and realize that I’ve created something that now has a life of its own; that my business is growing independently of my own efforts!
There are also some “Secret Agent” Nikken Consultants…no one knows they are in Nikken – they are keeping it a secret! Their numbers will likely continue to be zero.
It is always fascinating to me how just one phone call, or a visit with someone might possibly change everything! This simple action might possibly create a whole brand new world!
Valerie is off helping a daughter-in-law who is expecting a baby. I’m home alone, so I decided to go out for dinner at a nice restaurant. I could have sat at a table alone, but the Nikken business has made me more sociable, so I sat at the Sushi bar next to a nice couple. Now I could have just kept to myself but they appeared to be very nice and friendly, so I asked them about a particular dish they were having. The restaurant had a special with lobster. It was fantastic! When Larry my new friend saw my dish, he said he wished he would’ve gotten that! Pretty soon we were sharing our sushi family-style.
Of course I also discovered that she has a successful business down in LA that she still commutes to, and he is bored and looking for something new to do. How about that! We will be meeting again soon! It has never been easier to find good people and engage them about Nikken.
After all of these years, when I meet a new friend, I still get this “Nikken high” rush of endorphins streaming through my body. This is a healthy addiction that makes me feel good and pays very well!
Our new plan is really accelerating things. I’m talking to lots of people who already are achieving Silver. Great things are happening out there!
